Employee offboarding checklist

Employee offboarding workflow in Google Workspace consists of a number of steps necessary to perform for each user.

Use this checklist to make sure you don't miss any steps!

  1. Reset Google Workspace account password

  2. Set up Out-of-office email

  3. Revoke all Gmail delegations

  4. Revoke all Google Calendar delegations

  5. Remove user from all groups

  6. Force log out from all third-party apps

  7. Wipe all associated mobile devices

  8. Deleting all associated mobile devices from Google MDM (Mobile Device Management)

  9. Archive account data in Google Workspace or Google Cloud Storage

  10. Suspend access to the Google Workspace account

  11. Wait period

  12. Delete Google Workspace user account

  13. Send email to the offboarded employee's manager informing them the account has been deleted.
